MARCELLUS L. STEARNS - Maine-native Freedmen's Bureau officer for Gadsden County. Stearns recovered Dickinson's body after his murder and presented Dickinson's diary and the Fleishman Affidavits at the KKK Hearings. Stearns was a leading member the Osborn Ring and was entrusted by the Osborns with the distribution, at his discretion, of Great Southern Railroad shares so as to pave the way for passage of supporting legislation through the Florida legislature.
